After just two rounds, the 2007 NCAA Tournament belongs to the favorites. 2006 Cinderella team George Washington was sent home in the first round, along with Old Dominion and Albany. Only 2 teams made it to the 2nd round with a double digit seeding. Virginia Commonwealth made it past annual favorite Duke and Winthrop was able to beat the Irish on St Patty’s day (harsh!). But it was not to be, because neither team advanced to the sweet sixteen. Out of the 48 games over the weekend only 5 games were won by a lower seed. FIVE! The closest thing we have to an underdog now is #7 seed UNLV. Seems kinda buff for a Cindy

I think the upsets are one of the reasons the NCAA Tournament is so popular. In basketball, any team (well almost any) can beat any other team once. You can have a bad day, a player is out, bad calls by the ref, bottom line is that in a lose and your out tournament, everything is on the line and anyone can get in there and take it. Even the underdogs.
Just not this year.
